PSL Fans and Players Express Solidarity with Palestine

ISLAMABAD: In a show of support for the Palestinian cause, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Zuhair Zaid was invited to the Pakistan Super League match between Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultan’s.

Players and fans observed silence to mourn lives lost in Palestine and around the world.

“Tonight, cricket unites for a cause greater than the game,” said a post shared on Instagram.

The cricket commentator said, “Today, we come together to stand with humanity”.

The commentator also announced that for every four and six in the HBL PSL, a donation will be made to the Palestinian cause.

She further said that for every boundary, a donation will be made for the cause of humanity.

Multan Sultans

Earlier, Multan Sultans had announced a charitable initiative, pledging to donate Rs100,000 to the Palestine Children Relief Fund for every six and wicket they achieve in the ongoing tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Ali Tareen, the owner of Multan Sultans emphasised the team’s commitment to using their platform for positive causes.

“At Multan Sultans, we believe in utilising our platform for meaningful purposes,” he said in a statement.

He explained that the decision was made to support the Palestine Relief Fund this season, with the donation aimed at helping children in Palestine. “With every six and every wicket, we will donate Rs100,000 to support the children of Palestine,” he said.
