LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 40 runs in the 15th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) eighth edition at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.
After winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars elected to bat first and set a mammoth target of 241 runs for Peshawar Zalmi in 20 overs at the loss of only three wickets. Chasing the target, Peshawar Zalmi could score only 201 runs in 20 overs.
Lahore Qalandars have won three of their four matches during the PSL 8 so far. Before today’s match, Qalandars were at number three on the points table, followed by Zalmi at the 4th spot, with two victories and two defeats from the four league matches. Both teams have 4 points each.
Star batter Babar Azam is the top run-scorer for Zalmi, with 171 runs at a strike rate of 131. Babar has struck two sixes and 18 fours.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been the best bowler for Qalandars and has picked up five wickets with an average of 17 and an economy rate of 7.33.

Lahore Qalandars made two changes as they brought in England’s Sam Billings and Abdullah Shafique in place of Shai Hope and Kamran Ghulam.
Peshawar Zalmi Playing XI
Peshawar Zalmi also made changes as they brought Bhanuka Rajapaksa for his country-fellow Dasun Shanaka and dropped Sufiyaan Muqeem for Saad Masood. Their third change was Salman Irshad for Usman Qadir.
