With 20 sixes, Farhan is also among the tournament’s top power-hitters, demonstrating his all-round prowess with the bat.

In a season defined by high scores and aggressive batting, Abbas Afridi of Karachi Kings emerged as the league’s most effective bowler.

The young pacer claimed 17 wickets in 10 games, including a best of 4/27, and maintained a bowling average of 20.64.

While his economy rate of 10.02 reflected the batting-friendly conditions, Afridi’s knack for taking wickets at crucial junctures gave his team an edge.

He edged past close contenders Abrar Ahmed (15 wickets) and Jason Holder (15 wickets) to earn the prestigious Silver Cap heading into the playoffs.

PSL-9 (2024): Top Run Scorers

Usman Khan 7 7 430 107.50 164.12 52 11

Saim Ayub 11 11 345 31.36 157.53 27 21

Last season of PSL-9 in 2024, Babar Azam reigned supreme with 569 runs at a stunning average of 56.90, while Usman Khan made waves with 430 runs in just 7 innings, averaging a whopping 107.50. The 2024 top five were all prolific, aggressive, and consistent, with most striking at over 150.

Sahibzada Farhan, while impressive with 394 runs, still falls significantly short of Babar’s 2024 benchmark. Similarly, Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 407 last season, managed only 367 this year, albeit with a better average in 2025.

Even Fakhar Zaman, known for his explosive starts, couldn’t replicate his past form, and the likes of James Vince and Hasan Nawaz emerged as fresh contenders but without eclipsing last year’s giants.

The drop in tall scores and averages reflects either better bowling attacks this season, or simply a dip in individual consistency.

PSL-9 (2024): Most Wickets

Naseem Shah 11 44.0 264 15 22.20 333

In PSL 9 (2024), the bowling charts were dominated by a group of elite performers who consistently delivered under pressure.

Usama Mir led the pack with a sensational 24 wickets in 12 matches, boasting an average of 15.88 and capping his campaign with a brilliant five-wicket haul – the only one among the top five.

Close behind was Mohammad Ali, who claimed 19 wickets at an impressive average of 18.63, proving to be a reliable strike bowler throughout the season.

Abrar Ahmed, with his mystery spin, picked up 16 wickets in 10 games, maintaining a strong average of 19.56.

Left-arm seamer David Willey and pace ace Naseem Shah rounded out the top five, each grabbing 15 wickets, with Willey averaging 20.40 and Naseem 22.20.

Their consistent breakthroughs and economical spells were instrumental in keeping PSL 9 highly competitive and low-scoring by modern T20 standards.
