MULTAN, Pakistan: A collective bowling effort from Peshawar Zalmi saw them dismiss the home side Multan Sultans for a paltry total in the 25th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan’s decision to bat first backfired as his side were bundled out for just 108 in 19.1 overs.

The hosts endured a shaky start, losing both openers—Yasir Khan (10) and captain Rizwan (17)—during the powerplay, managing only 34 runs by that stage.

After the early setbacks, Tayyab Tahir tried to mount a counterattack with a brisk cameo, scoring 22 off 18 balls, including two boundaries and a six, before being dismissed by Ahmed Daniyal in the ninth over.

His wicket triggered a collapse, with the Sultans losing three more wickets in quick succession to slump to 66 for six in 12.1 overs.

Hope’s dismissal

Shai Hope, who held firm amid the flurry of wickets, stitched together a cautious 20-run stand with David Willey.

However, Hope was eventually dismissed by Alzarri Joseph in the 15th over after top-scoring with 23 from 21 deliveries, including two fours and a six.

Another setback came in the 17th over when Willey, having scored eight off 16 balls with one four, was removed by Ahmed Daniyal.

Hasnain showed some late resistance with an 11-run knock from 10 balls but was the final wicket to fall, dismissed on the first ball of the last over, bringing an end to the Sultans’ innings.

Ahmed Daniyal shone with the ball for Peshawar Zalmi, claiming three wickets for just 17 runs in his four overs.

He was well supported by Maaz Sadaqat and Luke Wood, who took two wickets each, while Ali Raza, Saim Ayub and Alzarri Joseph picked up one apiece.
