ISLAMABAD: Peshawar Zalmi equalled the Pakistan Super League (PSL) record for the most ducks in a single innings—five—during their fixture against Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Chasing a daunting target of 217, Zalmi opted for a top-heavy batting line-up, with Big Bash League final star Mitchell Owen surprisingly coming in at number seven.
Their innings faltered early when Rilee Rossouw caught Babar Azam at cover off Mohammad Amir, registering his ninth duck in PSL history—placing him third on the all-time list, according to Wisden.
Mohammad Haris followed shortly after, dismissed for a quickfire 13 off eight balls by Abrar Ahmed in the fourth over.
The collapse continued as Zalmi slumped from 30-2 to 30-3 within two deliveries, with Abrar removing Tom Kohler-Cadmore—who came in at number four—for a duck.

Max Bryant, Alzarri Joseph, and Mohammad Ali also departed without troubling the scorers.
A defiant 50 from Saim Ayub, who was making a return from injury, off 38 deliveries, alongside contributions from Hussain Talat (35 off 19) and Owen (31 off 13), was not enough to salvage the innings as Zalmi were bowled out for 136 in just 15.1 overs.

Zalmi’s five ducks equalled the PSL record for the most in a single innings—an unfortunate milestone previously set in 2021 in a match against the same opposition, albeit with roles reversed.
On that occasion, Quetta Gladiators fell 61 runs short while chasing Zalmi’s 198, with Kamran Akmal, Azam Khan, Cameron Delport, Mohammad Nawaz, and Zahid Mahmood all dismissed for nought.
Despite conceding runs, Abrar Ahmed was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 4 for 42 and claiming three of the five ducks. Usman Tariq picked up one, while Alzarri Joseph was run out.
