PSL 10: Islamabad United Set 203-Run Target for Multan Sultans

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Sahibzada Farhan struck a solid half-century as Islamabad United posted a competitive total of 202 for 6 against Multan Sultans in the seventh match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

After being asked to bat first, Islamabad United made a strong start with Farhan and Andries Gous putting on 45 runs in just 4.4 overs.

Gous was dismissed for 9 by David Willey, but Farhan carried on to score a fluent 53 off 36 balls, hitting seven boundaries and two sixes.

He shared a 35-run stand for the second wicket with Colin Munro before falling in the ninth over.

Munro kept the momentum going for Islamabad United, playing an aggressive innings of 48 from 25 balls.

His knock included four fours and three sixes. He was eventually dismissed in the 16th over after brief partnerships with Shadab Khan and Azam Khan.

Haider Ali then provided the late fireworks, smashing 33 runs off just 16 deliveries.

His cameo featured three boundaries and two maximums and helped Islamabad push past the 200-run mark.

He was well supported by Jason Holder, as the pair added 49 runs for the sixth wicket before Haider fell on the final ball of the 19th over.

Multan Sultans’ bowlers struggled to contain Islamabad’s batting line-up.

Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 2 for 41 in his four overs.

David Willey, Usama Mir, and Ubaid Shah picked up a wicket each.

Multan Sultans now need 203 runs to win the match and maintain their strong start to the tournament.
