NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE: A French women’s league clash between Reims and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was abandoned on Saturday after a torrent of fireworks were launched onto the pitch.
Players hurried towards the dressing rooms at the start of the second half as fireworks rained down from outside the stadium.
After the incident, the referee took the decision to call the game off with the score 0-0.

PSG Women said in a statement that following the incidents outside the stadium, the match between Stade de Reims and Paris Saint-Germain is stopped for good.
The club said French football’s competitions committee would soon rule on the result of the match.
