PESHAWAR: The Provincial Doctors Association has declared a province-wide boycott of elective services, effective from Tuesday, including a series of protest demonstrations at government hospitals in Peshawar.

The decision to initiate the boycott and schedule the protests was made during an emergency meeting of the association.

The protest schedule includes demonstrations at Hayatabad Medical Complex on Tuesday, September 26, followed by protests at Lady Reading Hospital on Wednesday, September 27, and at Khyber Teaching Hospital on Thursday, September 28. During these protests, elective services will be boycotted by participating doctors.

All TMOs (Teaching Medical Officers) and House Officers are urged to join the protests during the boycott period. If their demands are not met, the scope of the protest will be expanded to include peripheral hospitals, where duties will be boycotted, and sit-ins will be organized on the streets. The meeting also extended an invitation to doctors who have not yet joined the organizing protest to participate.
