ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the government’s strong resolve to defeat terrorists with an iron hand so that they never dare cast an evil eye on Pakistan again.
The prime minister, while chairing a meeting on the law and order situation in Islamabad, stated the struggle will continue to completely eliminate terrorism from the country.
The prime minister said Pakistan’s enemies are scared of Pakistan’s continuous economic achievements over the past many years.
“Robust measures”
He commended all the institutions and provincial governments for their robust measures against terrorism.
He said the brave officers and soldiers of security forces are confronting the terrorists day and night, laying down their lives to protect the country.
He assured that the federal government would extend full cooperation to enhance the capacity of all the provinces to ensure the complete elimination of terrorism and extremism.
On the narrative issue, the prime minister mentioned that the federal government and the provinces are working together on the narrative against terrorism, which he termed encouraging.
Eradicating the menace
The prime minister emphasised the need to set aside all mutual differences and work together to eradicate the menace.
The prime minister directed that all institutions intensify efforts against smuggling.
The prime minister also directed that the noose around human trafficking networks be tightened further, and that smugglers be brought to justice.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasised the need to complete Safe City projects in major cities at the earliest.
The meeting was informed that a National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center has been established at National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
It was also informed that a forensic science agency has been established in Islamabad, while the Forensic Science Agency in Punjab is being further improved.
