WASHINGTON: In a move underscoring the close ties between the United States and Israel, officials from both nations have initiated discussions about a potential early visit to Israel by US President Joe Biden.

The invitation, extended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, serves to reinforce the strong alliance between the two countries. A knowledgeable source revealed this development on Sunday, albeit on the condition of anonymity.

This prospective visit by President Biden is intended to demonstrate unwavering support for Israel, a longstanding ally in the Middle East. It follows a recent visit by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the region, emphasizing the significance of the ongoing dialogue between the two nations.

The invitation by Prime Minister Netanyahu transpired during a phone call that also addressed the response to the recent Hamas militant attack on Israel. The details of their discussion remain confidential, but it is evident that both leaders are keen on maintaining a robust partnership.

The White House has refrained from making an official statement on this matter. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson, when queried about the possible visit, stated, “We have no new route to announce.” The reserved response from the White House leaves room for speculation about the timing and logistics of this anticipated visit.

As discussions continue behind closed doors, the international community watches with interest, eager to see how this potential visit by President Biden could further cement the unshakable bond between the United States and Israel.
