ISLAMABAD: Pro-freedom organizations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have displayed posters in Srinagar, urging G20 nations to boycott their meeting in the internationally recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The posters, displayed by organizations including Warseen-e-Shuda, call on the global community to take notice of the violation of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, which was recognized by the United Nations Security Council (NSC) through its resolution passed on January 5, 1949.
India’s motives behind holding G20 meeting in IIOJK
The posters also highlight India’s ulterior motives behind holding the G20 meeting in IIOJK, claiming that it is a ploy to hide its anti-Kashmir agendas and the demands of the UN resolutions by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The pro-freedom organizations urge the World Body to honor its commitments made 74 years ago and settle the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The posters emphasize that the Right to Self-Determination Day serves as a reminder to the global community that it cannot shy away from its responsibility to resolve the Kashmir dispute, which has caused immense suffering for the Kashmiri people.
The display of these posters comes amid heightened tensions in IIOJK, where the Indian government’s policies have been met with widespread protests and calls for self-determination.
The call for a boycott of the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to draw attention to the ongoing struggle for freedom and justice in the disputed territory, and could spur international action to address the longstanding conflict.
