LAHORE: The Lahore district’s civil administration has decided to take legal action against private schools for failing to give students basic facilities while charging expensive tuition fees.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore, Muhammad Ali, reportedly ordered the city’s private schools to set

up buses to pick up and drop off students. DC Lahore has threatened to levy significant fines on private schools that disobey these orders. He has served show cause orders to the owners of ten private schools.

Warning to Private Schools

The DC has given private schools 30 days to arrange transportation buses. If not, they will be subject to a daily fine of Rs. 20,000 until the transportation is arranged. The decision was made based on the Water and Environmental Commission’s recommendations to combat smog.

Students need transportation because it offers a dependable and secure way to travel to and from school. Additionally, it enables students to participate in extracurricular activities wherever they are. It encourages social and economic mobility for students from all backgrounds and lowers absenteeism and dropout rates.
