BISHKEK: Prince Rahim Aga Khan has paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and held a meeting with the country’s, local media reported on Monday.
They discussed the activities of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Kyrgyzstan during the meeting. The two sides highlighted a shared desire to further deepen cooperation on climate change education and economic sectors.
Kyrgyzstan’s President Japarov lauded the activities of the AKDN and the help provided to address socio-economic challenges. On his part, Prince Rahim Aga Khan said that this is an important moment to strengthen their long-standing friendship and ties. He added that they looked forward to deeper cooperation to achieve their common goal of a peaceful and prosperous future for Kyrgyzstan.
Prince Rahim Aga Khan and President Sadyr Japarov expressed desire to deepen cooperation in the areas of education, climate, economy, and the protection of mountainous regions.
Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) agencies have been active in Kyrgyzstan for more than two decades helping to enhance the quality of life.
In the cultural field, the Aga Khan Music Programme works to revive musical traditions in collaboration with over 40 educational institutions in the Central Asian country.
