ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the bureaucracy for their support and guidance during his 16 months in the office.
During his farewell interaction with federal secretaries, Shehbaz Sharif expressed that their dedication and assistance proved crucial in steering the coalition government through challenging circumstances. It is due to the support of the bureaucracy that he was able to smoothly manage the affairs of his multi-party coalition government with exemplary cooperation and prudence, said the premier while appreciating the federal secretaries.
Reflecting on the past 16 months, the prime minister acknowledged that the bureaucracy confronted complex situations. However, their collective determination to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s progress prevailed.

Bureaucracy’s role in overcoming challenges
The prime minister highlighted the challenges the civil service faced during the devolution process, leading some young professionals to seek other avenues for their skills.
Pointing out delays in executing the 10,000MW solar energy project, Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the need to establish strong systems to ensure the seamless implementation of future projects.

He underscored that his government prioritized completing public welfare initiatives that the previous administration had halted.
Discussing his government’s accomplishments, the prime minister cited the significant achievement of signing the IMF agreement, averting potential disaster for the nation. He attributed these achievements to the diligent service of federal secretaries who played pivotal roles, particularly during challenging situations such as floods.
The prime minister highlighted his government’s constructive efforts in restoring ties with friendly nations that the previous administration’s misguided strategy had undermined. He criticized the baseless corruption allegations levied against CPEC projects by the previous government, which led to strained relations with China.
Additionally, the prime minister noted that the previous government needlessly obstructed projects funded by foreign grants to prevent the present administration from claiming credit.
Concluding his address, the prime minister thanked his special assistants, personal staff, and media team for their cooperative efforts and dedicated services.
