At the PKLI, the latest treatment facility has been made available in the South Asian country. The institution will become the John Hopkins of Pakistan, the PM said. Shehbaz Sharif said that the PKLI could have progressed more if a key personality had not intervened to get a salary raise for his family member.
The Prime Minister hoped that the institution would play a key role in reducing kidney and liver disease, which was on the rise in Pakistan. The current mortality ratio of disease stands at 2.77, which needs to be addressed via effective steps.
Shehbaz Sharif resolved that his government would establish PKLI-like hospitals in other areas of the country. He added that the previous government had been using the latest technology to target government institutions and political adversaries. Still, the current government used it for public welfare as the provision of health facilities was its top priority. He maintained the course of public welfare had been revived, which was disrupted in 2018. He remarked that he would not give up the course of public welfare, whatsoever the cost is.
