Price of Gold Increases by Rs500 to Rs186,100 per Tola Touching Historic High

ISLAMABAD: The price of 24-karat per tola gold witnessed an increase of Rs5,000 on Friday and was available at the market at Rs186,100 as compared to its sale at Rs181,100 on Thursday.

The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also recorded an increase by Rs4,287 and was sold at Rs159,551 compared to Rs155,264, while that of 10-gram 22-karat went up to Rs146,255 as compared to its sale at Rs 142,325, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

The price of per tola silver increased by Rs30 and was sold at Rs2,100 while that of ten-gram silver increased by Rs25.72 to Rs1,800.41.

Meanwhile, the price of gold in the international market increased by $23 to $1,900, the association reported.

Increase in Gold Price

From the last couple of weeks, gold prices have witnessed repeated increases, and two weeks before they had reached a record high of Rs 182,800 per tola. However, the increase on Friday took it to a new record high.

Like petroleum prices, gold prices also affect the sentiments of the market and the daily activities of the masses. People from the lower and middle classes are even more worried about an increase in gold prices and consider its increase as the key hurdle in planning their matrimonial activities.
