ASHGABAT: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari held one-on-one meetings with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and discussed the bilateral relations.
According to a President House press release on Friday, he also had meeting with the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty (Peoples Council) of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in Ashgabat.
During the meetings, they had an overview of the bilateral relations and expressed their desire to further strengthen them in all areas especially in trade and connectivity.
The President also reiterated the invitations to the National Leader and the President to visit Pakistan at their convenience.
Pakistan and Turkmenistan enjoy friendly ties, rooted in history and a shared vision of peace and prosperity in the region.
President Asif Ali Zardari is in Ashgabat to participate in the event of International Forum “The Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi on 11th October, 2024.
