ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s cordial relations with Cote d’Ivoire and stressed the importance of bolstering economic and cultural ties between the two nations for mutual benefit. He conveyed these sentiments during a meeting with Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood, the Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Cote d’Ivoire, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Zardari urged Ambassador Mahmood to explore opportunities for advancing trade and economic cooperation with Cote d’Ivoire, emphasizing the potential for increasing Pakistani exports of rice, medical equipment, pharmaceutical products, and sports goods to the country. Additionally, he called for initiatives to enhance cultural relations and people-to-people contacts to strengthen the friendship between Pakistan and Cote d’Ivoire.
Furthermore, President Zardari encouraged Ambassador Mahmood to make concerted efforts to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two nations. He congratulated Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Mahmood on his appointment as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure in fostering stronger ties between the two countries.
