President of Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council Receives Vice Foreign Minister

PORT SUDAN: President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Republic of the Sudan First Lieutenant General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdelrahman Al-Burhan has received Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, in Port Sudan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

According to the SPA, during the meeting, El-Khereiji conveyed to Al-Burhan the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The SPA reported that the Saudi envoy stressed the keenness of the Kingdom’s leadership on the restoration of security and stability in Sudan, quoting the primacy of calmness, wisdom, and self-restraint as requirements for this to happen. He conveyed the Saudi leadership’s keenness to see peace negotiations resumed and positive flexibility and response to humanitarian initiatives demonstrated, the SPA reported.

El-Khereiji affirmed to Lt. Gen. Al-Burhan the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome and support for all UN and global efforts aimed at achieving a permanent truce and for humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people, the combination of which would push the parties involved towards completing what was reached in the two negotiation rounds held in Jeddah, the SPA reported.
