President of Iran to Undertake Official Visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, is set to undertake an official visit to Pakistan from April 22 to April 24, 2024. This marks the first visit by any Head of State to Pakistan following the general elections held in February 2024.

Accompanying President Raisi will be his spouse and a high-level delegation comprising the Foreign Minister, members of the cabinet, senior officials, and a sizable business delegation.

During his visit, President Raisi will hold meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, as well as with the Chairman of the Senate and Speaker of the National Assembly. Additionally, he will visit Lahore and Karachi to engage with provincial leadership.

The agenda for discussions between the two sides will cover a wide range of topics aimed at further strengthening Pakistan-Iran ties and enhancing cooperation in various sectors including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and fostering people-to-people contacts. The leaders will also address regional and global developments and explore bilateral cooperation in combating the common threat of terrorism.

Pakistan and Iran share robust bilateral relations deeply rooted in history, culture, and religion. This forthcoming visit presents a significant opportunity to bolster and deepen the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Iran.
