ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday appreciated the security forces for their successful operation to repulse a terrorist attack at the Naval Base in Turbat, a statement said.
The president said that effective and timely action by the country’s security troops to foil the attack was highly appreciable. President Zardari also lauded the valour of the security forces who carried out the clearance operation and eliminated the terrorists.
The President paid rich tribute to Sepoy Noman Fareed who embraced martyrdom during the operation in Turbat. Reiterating the government’s determination for the complete eradication of terrorism in the country, the President prayed to Allah Almighty for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks in paradise.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday lauded the security forces for thwarting a terrorist attack on Turbat naval airbase, a statement said.

PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, cited the PM as saying that due to a prompt and effective response by the country’s security forces, terrorists were sent to hell, thus saving the nation from a huge damage. Shehbaz Sharif also expressed the determination to crush the specter of terrorism.
He further said that the entire nation was standing with their brave security forces and paid rich tribute to them.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), “On night 25/26 March 2024, terrorists attempted to attack Pakistan Naval Base, PNS Siddique in Turbat which was thwarted due to the swift and effective response by the troops ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets.”
The ISPR said, “Security forces in the vicinity were immediately mobilized to support the naval troops. Synergetic and effective response by the armed forces enabled killing of all four terrorists in ensuing joint clearance operation.”
It added, “However, during intense fire exchange, Sepoy Noman Fareed (age 24 years, resident of Muzaffargarh) of Frontier Corps Balochistan, having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.”
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, the ISPR added.
Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs.
