President Emphasizes Bureaucracy’s Role in Promoting Good Governance

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President, Dr Arif Alvi, emphasized the crucial role of government officers in promoting good governance within all public departments during a meeting with participants of the 37th Mid-Career Management Course Quetta at the President House on Wednesday.

He called on the bureaucracy to prioritize service delivery improvement, work sincerely for the country’s development, and ensure the welfare of the people through dedication and hard work.

President Alvi highlighted the significance of timely decision-making for providing justice to the people. He stressed that delays in decision-making negatively impact service delivery and hinder the country’s progress. Emphasizing the importance of ethical values and integrity, he encouraged the adoption of better morals in the bureaucracy.

President for Enhancing Intellectual Capacity

Furthermore, the President emphasized the need for streamlining systems and enhancing intellectual capacity within the bureaucracy. He urged officers to equip themselves with modern skills to enhance their performance and facilitate effective decision-making. President Alvi also urged the utilization of modern information technology to improve public access to services and enhance the overall performance of government departments.

In line with the government’s commitment to fast-track development, President Alvi directed the bureaucracy to provide services that meet people’s expectations. By doing so, the country can achieve accelerated development and progress.
