ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi emphasized the need for robust trade and economic relations with the brethren country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), for the mutual benefit of the two friendly countries.
Dr Arif Alvi said this while talking to the Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, who called on the president at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday.
Talking to the ambassador-designate, the president expressed that Pakistan attached special significance and vitality to its strong relations with Saudi Arabia, which were based on shared history, common faith, and people-to-people contacts.
Strengthening Trade, Economic Relations
He underscored that Pakistan wanted to further consolidate the existing bilateral relations into a strategic economic and trade partnership for the mutual interest of the two sides.
Arif Alvi asked the ambassador-designate to highlight the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the ongoing persecution of innocent Muslims in the IIOJK (Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir) as well as other vicinities of India at various forums.
The President asked the diplomate to convey his warm regards to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Saudi Crown Prince/Prime Minister, Mohammad bin Salman.
Dr Arif Alvi also congratulated Ahmad Farooq on his appointment as ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia and expressed confidence that the ambassador would utilize his potential and would do his best to further strengthen and boost bilateral engagements at all levels in the interest of the two brethren countries.
