MAKKAH: The Presidency for Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, has enhanced the Tawaf initiative at the Grand Mosque, specially with the increased number of Umrah performers during the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

The program aims to support the duties of the Motawifs, religious tour guides who supervise the Tawaf of the Umrah Performers, ensuring they can perform their rituals easily in a safe and reverential environment. Overall 80 Motawifs work tirelessly around the clock.

Motawifs is a profession in religious guidance performed by qualified Saudi professionals who are legally authorized to help pilgrims and Umrah performers in correctly conducting their rituals.
