Preparations to Hold SCO Summit in Islamabad in Full Swing

ISLAMABAD:  Preparations are being made to hold the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad.

In this connection, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited D-Chowk, Murree Road, Constitution Avenue, and Islamabad Expressway to review the arrangements being taken for renovation and cleanliness of Islamabad and also directed to complete all the renovation and construction work at the earliest.

The Minister further directed the officials concerned to ensure complete cleanliness of Islamabad, especially the VVIP routes and the Red Zone. He ordered to remove encroachments along these routes.

SCO Summit and Pakistan

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the natural beauty of Islamabad will be portrayed on the occasion of the SCO Summit and directed the relevant officials to make best arrangements for the Summit.

Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa also gave a detailed briefing regarding the construction and renovation works to the Minister of Interior.

Pakistan will be hosting a Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member nations as well as a Meeting of Ministers of the SCO Member States Responsible for Foreign Economic and Foreign Trade Activities in Islamabad during 2024.
