BEIJING: Chinese Priemer Li Qiang will participate in the 18th G20 Summit to be held in New Delhi, India on September 9 and 10, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has said.
Western media reported that during a regular press briefing the Chinese diplomat said member countries attending the G-20 summit should enhance cooperation and jointly face the challenges posed by the current world economy and development.
Terming G-20 as one of the major summits of international economic cooperation said the participating states should make positive contributions to world economic recovery and sustainable development.

Mao further stated that China expects the summit taking place in India could reach a consensus, demonstrate confidence and promote prosperous development together.
She said that Premier Li Qiang of China’s State Council would attend the summit at the invitation of the government of Republic of India.
Earlier U.S. President Joe Biden expressed his disappointment over Chinese President Xi Jinping’s decision to stay away from the upcoming G20 summit in India.
