ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday decided to serve notice to its senior leader Aitzaz Ahsan on his recent remarks against the Sharif family.
The top leadership of the PPP which is a coalition partner in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government in the centre , has distanced itself from the recent statement of Aitzaz Ahsan, saying that it was his personal view and does not reflect the party policy, a local TV reported.
The veteran politician Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan had alleged on Wednesday that the establishment helped the Sharif family get clear from the court cases of corruption against them. His remarks came after a special court in Lahore acquitted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz Sharif in money laundering case.
His statement drew severe criticism from the ruling alliance.
