ISLAMABAD: Qadir Khan Mandokhail, a senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), emphasized the party’s firm demand for free and fair elections, which he stressed as the primary means to resolve the country’s political crisis.
“PPP is committed to advocating for transparent elections, as it is the cornerstone of democracy. Without them, democratic forces risk losing their strength, and people’s trust in the electoral process may diminish,” Mandokhail said during an interview with a news channel.

He further underscored the need for a “level playing field” for all political parties during general elections, emphasizing that political parties should actively engage in the electoral process and respect the people’s will.
In response to a query, he emphasized the importance of the public differentiating between those evading accountabilities in elections and those willingly stepping forward to engage with the electorate. “For the nation and its economic stability, general elections are the sole path,” he said. —APP
