Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The electricity tariff in Pakistan is likely to be dropped by Rs2.20 per unit.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority will hear a petition seeking a decrease in the electricity tariff on account of fuel charges adjustment for the month of December (2022). The government is facing a severe backlash over increased prices of electricity in the country.

Hearing on power tariff on 30th

The regulatory body will conduct a hearing on the petition on 30 January to approve the cut to the electricity rates. The cut in the electricity tariff will not benefit the K-Electric and Lifeline customers, according to the officials.
