WASHINGTON: A white powder found at the White House on Sunday, was identified by officials as cocaine, the Washington Post stated on Tuesday.

The authorities confirmed to Western media that an “unidentified item” had been found at White House.
“On Sunday evening, the White House went into a cautionary closure as officials probed an unknown item found at work area,” an official said.
Reuters reported that the item was discovered from the West Wing, which is an area, where the US President lives and also includes the Oval Office, press area and cabinet room, along with workspace and offices for the president’s staff.
As per the media reports, US President Joe Biden was not in the complex at the time.
“The Fire Department was called to quickly ascertain the unknown item to be non-hazardous,” official maintained. There was “a probe into the cause” of how the item entered into the White House, the official added.
Two officials confirmed to the Washington Post that the item found at the premise of White House was cocaine.
