The procession aims to honour the memory of the esteemed Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Gilani, on the second anniversary of his tragic demise.

Organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), the commemorative march is slated to culminate at the final resting place of Syed Ali Gilani. This initiative has garnered support from a coalition of pro-autonomy groups, underscoring the collective resonance of this commemoration.

The posters once again affixed to walls, pillars, and utility poles in numerous locations within the region, have been disseminated by an alliance of entities including the APHC, the Peoples Resistance Party, the Jammu and Kashmir Justice and Peace Initiative, Nawjawanan-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Justice League Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Movement, Resistance Youth Forum Jammu and Kashmir, Democratic Youth Forum Jammu and Kashmir, Wareseen-e-Shuhada, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement, Freedom Lovers, and several other organizations. These posters passionately encourage the populace to converge upon the Hyderpora precinct to pay their heartfelt respects to the revered leader on the forthcoming 1st of September. Furthermore, they entreat the imams and khateebs of mosques to orchestrate special prayers in remembrance of Syed Ali Gilani and other Kashmiri martyrs.

Prominently inscribed on the posters is the assertion that the sacrifices of these Kashmiri martyrs shall not be allowed to dissipate into oblivion; instead, their indomitable mission will persist against all odds.

In a modern twist, these posters have also been propagated across social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp, thereby amplifying their reach and resonance.

Meanwhile, key figures within the APHC, namely Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, Abdul Ghani Butt, and Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, have expressed their appeals through statements issued in Srinagar. They earnestly urge the Kashmiri populace, spanning both sides of the Line of Control and beyond, to orchestrate protest demonstrations on the anniversary of Syed Ali Gilani’s martyrdom. This call to action aims to spotlight the alleged transgressions perpetrated by India in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region.
