LONDON: Madonna, the legendary pop icon, after three-and-a-half months of sickness on Saturday launched a 78-day international tour to celebrate forty years of success in the music industry.
The 65-year-old singer was hospitalized in June with a bacterial infection, which led her to postpone her highly-anticipated “Celebration” tour.
Madonna all set to start six-month-long international tour
The singer is all set to start a six-month-long tour of Europe and North America starting at London’s 02 Arena.
She will also perform at Accor Arena in Paris on November 12, 13, 19 and 20 and the Bell Center in Montreal on January 18 and 20, before ending it at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico on April 24.
The show would cover her vast career while showing archive footage and studio recordings from the four decades since her breakthrough single in 1983.
Madonna had to spend several days in intensive care in New York hospital after being found unconscious in her apartment in June forcing her to postpone the tour.
The singer in a social media post in July said her first thought when she woke up in the hospital was her children while her second thought was that she did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for her tour.
The Grammy-winning icon has been named as one of music’s top stars. Despite singing she has also taken in acting, film directing and business ventures, taking her into the list of wealthiest artists.
In 2020 she had a hip replacement surgery following an injury sustained on her “Madame X” music tour.
Madonna has so far won seven Grammy Awards and sold over 300 million records across the world.
