ISLAMABAD: Health officials on Wednesday said the poliovirus has been discovered in the environmental sample in Lasbela district of Balochistan province.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said the virus was moving from one place to another and is a persistent threat to the health of the innocent children.
He added that the surveillance system was working in the area effectively to detect the presence of poliovirus.
He said that eradicating polio was the top priority to save children from the deadly disease. The spokesperson said that a countrywide polio campaign would be started from February 26.
He noted that parents should complete the immunization course of their children along with the polio vaccine.
