MULTAN: In a comical yet noteworthy event, police arrested two individuals over selling ‘sanday ka tail’ (lizard oil) by a roadside in Multan which hurt the sentiments of passengers.
Police on Monday filed an FIR against the ‘culprits’ after a special informer reported about the activity.
The FIR read that two individuals were selling the oil for sexual performance purposes and had gathered a crowd on a footpath, causing a traffic jam and hurting the sentiments of public in the surrounding area.
It said that police also seized 12 small bottles of lizard oil from the culprits.
The incident has raised concerns that if police informers are busy spying on roadside sellers, then who would keep an eye on actual crimes.
The oil, commonly found at roadsides almost all across the country, is extracted from the body of the Hardwicke’s spiny-tailed lizard — a brown reptile that can grow to over 45 cm in length and is found in the desert areas along the Indo-Pak border.
