PNCA, NCSW Hold Exhibition to End Feminicide

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Commission on the Status of Women in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) arranged an exhibition display and prize distribution for the poster competition under the theme of ending feminicide to mark 16 Days of Activism on Saturday. 

Fifty students from Islamabad and Rawalpindi took part in the competition and won certificates for their work.

Syeda Fatima Hashmi, Shehwar, and Fatima Salahuddin have been declared 1st,2nd, and 3rd prize winners for their work. They received certificates and cash awards for their submissions.  A consolidation prize was announced for Syeda Danya Zubair of Beaconhouse for Hifza Afzal from OPF college.

Chairperson of Pakistan’s National Commission on the Status of Women Nilofar Bakhtiar also highlighted the meaning concepts including he and she.  On the occasion, Noor’s mother said that she (Noor) loved doing calligraphy and expressed herself through the art.

The Chief Guest, Noor Mukaddam (late) father Shaukat Ali Mukaddam thanked the PNCA and NCSW for arranging this event. He said that he is very impressed and delighted to see NCSW working so hard to empower the women in Pakistan. He said that females make up almost half of the population of the country and have actively worked in every sector. – APP
