ISLAMABAD: Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) met with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at Adiala Jail on Thursday.
The meeting, which lasted for two hours and 40 minutes, discussed various topics, including Elahi’s health and family matters.
Prominent figures from the Chaudhry family included Chaudhry Shujaat, Chaudhry Wajahat, Chaudhry Salik, and Muntaha Ashraf. According to media reports, the meeting between PTI President Elahi and Chaudhry Shujaat was held in the conference room of Adiala Jail.
Upon the conclusion of the meeting, members of the Chaudhry family left Adiala Jail without addressing the media, maintaining confidentiality regarding the discussions and outcomes.
The meeting between PML-Q and PTI leaders underscores the ongoing political dynamics and alliance formations shaping Pakistan’s political trajectory. As stakeholders navigate challenges and opportunities, such interactions play a pivotal role in determining the course of political developments in the country.
The meeting occurred in the backdrop of the PTI’s nomination of former minister Omar Ayub for the prime ministerial position.
Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser made this announcement during a media interaction outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where he convened with PTI Founder Imran Khan.
Qaiser expressed hope for a PTI-led prime ministership, highlighting the alleged theft of the party’s mandate in the recent elections. Additionally, he unveiled plans for a nationwide protest movement, the details of which would be disclosed later in the day.
He emphasized reaching out to various political factions, citing ongoing protests by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, ANP, Qaumi Watan Party, and others.
