LAHORE: Vice President and Chief Organizer of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has said PML-N, under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, had always strived for robust economic development and it was determined to put the country back on track to progress and prosperity again.

Addressing a gathering here on Saturday soon after her arrival from the UK, she said that despite being ousted from the government three times, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was still the most popular leader in the country.

The Vice President announced that the PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif would soon return to the country and would be among the party workers and people of Pakistan.

PML-N to resolve economic woes

She further said that the party would make a comeback to serve the masses and bring back the pace of development and growth, adding that she and the PML-N leadership was fully aware of the current inflation and economic woes due to which prices of electricity, gas, bread, wheat, and other commodities had gone up. The party would not sit idle till resolving these issues.

Maryam Nawaz said that soon after the most popular leader and most competent prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for having an Iqama, the country suffered from continuous instability. Maryam said that it was only the PML-N which could take the country out of the prevailing quagmire as it did in the past whenever it got a chance to serve the masses.

Maryam Nawaz said that the PTI government was responsible for the current poor economic situation of the country as they did nothing for the welfare of the people during the four-year rule except for victimizing the opponents. She said that they should be held accountable for the incompetency and corruption committed during their time.

She said that the PML-N and its workers were never afraid of elections and would probably win with a thumping majority whenever the elections would be held.

Maryam Nawaz said she went abroad for medical treatment, however, now she was back and would start connecting with the party workers and would also visit every district of the provinces.

Earlier, she was given a warm welcome on her arrival at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in the afternoon. A large number of the PML-N workers and representatives were present in and outside the airport to welcome their leader. Tight security arrangements were also made at the airport on the occasion.
