PM Shehbaz Visits Karachi to Enhance Port Operations and Engage with Business Leaders

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Karachi for a day-long trip to review the city’s port operations and meet with key business leaders, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving critical infrastructure and fostering economic growth.

During his visit, PM Shehbaz will receive detailed briefings on the operations of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Port Qasim Authority (PQA), and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC). These briefings aim to identify areas for improvement and ensure that these pivotal port authorities operate efficiently and effectively.

In addition to assessing port operations, the Prime Minister will engage with a delegation of business leaders from the export and import sectors. This meeting will focus on discussing reforms and facilitation measures designed to boost national revenue and provide robust support to the business community. PM Shehbaz’s agenda includes a tour of the Karachi Port, where he will evaluate its operations firsthand and make key decisions to enhance its efficiency.

Throughout the visit, the Prime Minister will receive comprehensive briefings on strategies to increase national revenue, improve facilities for the business community, and implement reforms in the export-import sector. These discussions and subsequent decisions are expected to play a crucial role in driving economic progress and strengthening Pakistan’s trade infrastructure.
