ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan had all the essential components to boost its Information Technology (IT) exports to $25 billion in two to three years.
In a tweet on Friday, he said, “Investing in the IT sector can pay off quickly in dividends and rewards and significantly reduce our unemployment problem.”
The Prime Minister (PM), who had attended the national conference on maximizing Pakistan’s IT potential the day before, declared that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) event was a testament to our shared desire to turn Pakistan into an IT hub. “The seminar laid the foundation for an IT revolution that the country desperately needs,” he added.
He said, the SIFC, which represented a comprehensive approach, will ensure the provision of policy continuity and predictability in the Information Technology, mines and minerals, agriculture, and defense production sectors.
PM Shehbaz Sharif hopful for economic revival plan implementation
He added that governments may come and go, but the economic revival plan would be implemented with the same passion and energy.
He further said that the IT sector would have all the required facilitation and must develop under a one-window system. The onus is now on the leading companies in the sector to seize this chance.
