ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Riyadh on Monday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Foreign Office announced on Sunday.

The Prime Minister will lead a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with senior cabinet ministers, to attend the Ninth Edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9).

The global conference — themed “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth” — will bring together world leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators to discuss challenges and opportunities in innovation, sustainability, economic inclusion, and shifting geopolitics.

Enhanced bilateral cooperation

During his stay in Riyadh, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold meetings with the Saudi leadership to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. The discussions will also include regional and global issues of mutual concern.

On the sidelines of FII9, the Prime Minister is expected to engage with leaders from other participating countries and heads of international organisations to promote Pakistan’s investment potential and collaboration in sustainable development, consistent with the forum’s “Think, Exchange, and Act” model.

“This visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic diplomacy and fostering strategic partnerships in investment, technology, and sustainable development,” Foreign Office Spokesman Tahir Andrabi said in a statement.
