ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that the approval of the 26th constitutional amendment was manifestation of national consensus and solidarity.
Speaking in the National Assembly following the passage of the Constitutional Amendment, he has expressed the confidence the new legislation will ensure speedy justice to the ordinary people of the country. Describing it as a major landmark, he added that this was the fulfillment of the incomplete agenda of Charter of Democracy inked by the political parties.
The PM hoped that this constitutional amendment will secure as well as strengthen the nation’s future. Shehbaz Sharif stated that the political parties while rising above their personal interests move forward in the best national interest. He thanked coalition parties and the JUI (F) for supporting the 26th constitutional amendment in the National Assembly and Senate.
