PM Shehbaz Sharif Orders Implementation of Balochistan Commission’s Recommendation

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the federal and provincial departments to ensure measures for the implementation of recommendations given in the Commission’s report, which was formed over the complaints of students from Balochistan.

A Commission’s delegation to enquire and investigate the grievances of the students called on prime minister Shehbaz Sharif to brief him on their report and recommendations.

The PM assured that all measures would be taken to address the students’ problems as they had been the national assets and the progress and development of Pakistan was linked with their prosperity.

He also commended the efforts of the Commission to present a comprehensive report with diligence and honest, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press note.

The meeting was attended by Convenor of the Commission Sardar Akhtar Mengal and members Senator Kamran Murtaza, Afrasiab Khattak, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Nasir Mehmood Khosa and Additional Secretary Senate Major (R) Syed Hasnain Haider.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarrar, PM’s Adviser Ahad Cheema and other key officials were also attended the meeting.

The premier further said that the political leadership was giving a message of peace, prosperity, and friendship to the people of the province. All the problems of the province, including the missing persons, should be collectively resolved by all stakeholders.

He stressed taking up suitable measures, within the confines of the Constitution and law over the issue of missing persons.

He said that through the adoption of a mechanism for close cooperation and partnership, national unity and progress could be ensured.

PM Shehbaz Sharif highlights Balochistan’s importance

He added that Pakistan’s progress and prosperity were linked with that of Balochistan and directed for ensuring the provision of development funds to the province.

He further said that the government was striving to bring the deprived segments of society and the womenfolk into the mainstream of development.

The Commission was formed under the Islamabad High Court’s directive in September 2022. –APP
