ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Iran in all areas of interest, particularly energy cooperation, trade, security and regional stability.
In a telephonic conversation on Thursday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations with the President of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi.
The two leaders discussed various areas of mutual interest, including trade, energy cooperation, security, and regional stability.
Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its relations with Iran and expressed satisfaction with the recent operationalization of the Polan-Gabd Electricity Transmission Line.
He praised the Iranian government’s cooperation in this regard and emphasized the need for increasing people-to-people contacts, including educational and cultural exchanges, to promote cooperation and mutual understanding between the two nations.
PM Shehbaz lauds Iran’s efforts for peace
Furthermore, the Pakistani Prime Minister lauded Iran’s efforts in promoting stability and peace in the region and congratulated President Raisi on the historic development of the resumption of diplomatic ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
He stressed the importance of resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-countries solution and in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and international law. Prime Minister Sharif called for an immediate end to Israel’s violations of human rights in the occupied territory.
Both leaders reiterated their strong commitment to maintaining close contact on all matters of mutual interest. This telephonic conversation signifies the deepening of ties between the two countries and is expected to pave the way for further enhancing cooperation in various fields.
