ISTANBUL: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was presented with a guard of honor by the Turkish Navy while the national anthem of both countries was played as he arrived in Istanbul on Friday to inaugurate the jointly-produced Corvette Ship PNS Khaibar.
Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received him. The two walked the red carpet as a Turkiye Naval band played, and a smartly turned-out contingent of the Turkish Navy presented a guard of honor.

Later, the Turkish Naval band played the national anthem of Pakistan, Pak Sar Zameen. The Turkish national anthem followed it.
It was followed by the ceremony to launch the ship.
Earlier on Friday, Shehabaz arrived in Istanbul for a two-day official visit to Turkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
