PM Shehbaz Lauds Christians’ Contribution to Development of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has felicitated Christians in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Christmas.

In his special message, the Pakistani premier said that Christians have played a vital role in the progress and development of Pakistan.

The prime minister said that Christmas gave a message of love, tolerance, and brotherhood, and these values played a key role in putting society on the path of progress.

He said that there is a need to follow the values of love, compassion, brotherhood, and tolerance in the present age to strengthen the moral values in society.

The prime minister said that across the globe in the last few years, a trend of religious intolerance has intensified and humans must follow the message of religious harmony and tolerance to prevent this negative wave.

Christians played a key role in Pakistan’s progress

The prime minister said Christians in Pakistan have been playing a constructive role in all walks of life including the judiciary, defence and education, and contributed to the development and progress of the nation.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the sacrifices of the Christians for the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan are unforgettable. He said that in Pakistan everyone had complete religious freedom and the constitution of Pakistan gave special protection to the minorities in the country. He said that minorities are not only given equal rights but have complete liberty to worship according to their faith and their places of worship are protected.

The prime minister said that the country is passing through a critical time and that the entire nation should unite and work for the progress, development, and prosperity of Pakistan. He further said that Pakistan belongs to us all and on the occasion of Christmas let us vow to make the country a role model of religious tolerance, brotherhood, and peace. “Long live Pakistan,” he concluded.
