ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and H.E. Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, spoke over the telephone on Thursday.
The dialogue was marked by traditional warmth and friendship that has always characterized Pak-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The PM expressed his heartfelt congratulations on the Chinese Premier’s recent election, demonstrating the nation’s unwavering faith and confidence in him due to his numerous accomplishments in public service.
As all-weather close friends and partners, Pakistan appreciated China’s peaceful development as a positive international peace and stability factor.
PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s unstinting support to China on core issues, including the “One China” policy, Taiwan, Tibet, Xinjiang, the South China Sea, and Hong Kong. He expressed sincere gratitude from Pakistan for the principled position of China on the Jammu & Kashmir dispute and support for Pakistan on critical global issues.
For his part, the Chinese Premier appreciated the support of Pakistan for China and reaffirmed China’s continuing support for Pakistan’s national development, territorial integrity, and sovereignty. As an all-weather Friend, China will continue to stand with Pakistan.
The two leaders discussed the PM’s visit to China in November 2022 and their extensive discussions with President Xi Jinping and other members of the Chinese leadership as they evaluated their bilateral cooperation in vital sectors, including CPEC.
They agreed to strengthen their cooperation in all spheres to realize shared objectives of benefiting the peoples of their countries while also contributing to regional peace, prosperity, and stability.
