ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his grief and sadness over the death of the former president of the women’s wing of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

PM Shehbaz Expresses Grief
Senior parliamentarian Begum Najma Hameed passed away in Rawalpindi after a prolonged illness. PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the late Najma Hameed’s contributions to democracy, the supremacy of the constitution, country, and party were unforgettable. Begum Najma embodied party ideals and principles of a brave, affectionate, faithful personality. Najma’s death was a big loss to the party, he added.

The prime minister said she played a memorable part during the late Kalsoom Begum’s political struggle with boldness and steadfastness. The late leader was a close confidant and partner of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister, and late Begum Kalsoom.
The prime minister has expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb and Tahira Aurangzeb have also expressed their sorrow over the death.
