ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Maulana Muhammad Siddique Mengal, President of Khuzdar Press Club in a bomb blast.
According to a PM House statement, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and grant of courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved families.
The Prime Minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the tragic incident.
At least three people, including Muhammad Siddique Mengal were killed and nine others injured in a bomb blast in Chamrok area of Khuzdar, Balochistan, on Friday.
According to police officials, the unidentified assailants remotely detonated an improvised explosive device (IED), targeting a car.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence at the blast site. Moreover, the injured have been moved to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital.
The blast took place at a time when the world is observing the World Press Freedom Day.
Maulana Muhammad Siddique Mengal was famous for his dedication to the field of journalism and his active involvement in the local journalist community.
