ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday and enquired about his health.
The premier wished an early recovery to Arif Alvi, who had received an injury on his right leg during jogging a few days back.
Shehbaz Sharif prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the best of health to President Alvi. Dr Alvi thanked the prime minister for his kind wishes.
It is worth mentioning here, both the key leaders of the country came in contact last time in March this year, via official correspondence, when Dr Alvi sent a letter to Shehbaz Sharif, reminding him to abide by the constitution and avoid delaying the election in Punjab. Accordingly, the Premier responded the same way recalling Dr Alvi for undue favours of ex-Premier Imran Khan.
The recent gesture of Shehbaz Sharif while enquiring about the health of the president could be considered an optimistic gesture in normalizing issues.
