ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday paid rich tribute to martyred Captain Karnal Sher Khan (Nishan-e-Haider) on the occasion of his 26th martyrdom anniversary.
In his message, the premier acknowledged his unmatched courage, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the defence of Pakistan.
“Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed demonstrated extraordinary bravery and valour during the Kargil conflict, so much so that even the enemy could not help but acknowledge his fearless resolve,” he said.
The prime minister added that the martyred officer set an everlasting example of devotion to duty and love for the motherland, fighting without regard for his own life in the defense of Pakistan.
“His sacrifice is a timeless symbol of loyalty and selflessness that will continue to inspire generations to come,” he added.
PM Shahbaz Sharif said that Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, recipient of the highest military honour, Nishan-e-Haider, and his family are a source of immense pride for the entire nation. “I, along with the whole nation, salute the unwavering commitment of our brave soldiers who stand as the first line of defence for our beloved country.”
He said that the Pakistan Armed Forces have rendered eternal sacrifices in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the Chief of Air Staff, the Chief of Naval Staff, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan have paid tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed on his martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement, the military’s media wing, ISPR, said Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s supreme sacrifice reflects the spirit of selflessness and devotion to duty that defines the Pakistan Armed Forces.
His legacy continues to live in the hearts of the people of Pakistan and serves as a guiding light for our future generations.
The statement reaffirmed the resolve of our armed forces to defend the homeland against all threats.
